Hi, I’m Andy,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

Seeing as you’ve got this far, I think it’s only polite that I tell you a little about myself.

I’m 60 years old and based in Warrington, Cheshire. I'm married to an amazing lady who keeps me grounded and keeps me going.

I’m the father of three outstanding young adults and the grandfather of two grandaughters, all of whom are a constant source of pride and inspiration to me.

I spent more years than I care to remember working at various levels of management until I had something of an epiphany when I was made redundant at 43; I decided that I would spend the second half of my life doing something that I enjoyed rather than being locked into the 9 to 5 doing something I had to do.

I had been involved in health & fitness on an amateur level for more than 25 years and I’d always had a desire to work professionally within the industry. So, when opportunity came knocking, I threw caution to the wind and spent 18 months earning my initial qualifications (and several years since), then I got to work.

After spending an extremely enjoyable and enlightening 18 months with 'Fitness First' as a fitness instructor, I decided to break away and become a full-time, self-employed Personal Trainer.

It was the best move that I’ve ever made.

I love being my own boss...

I love working with people...

I love helping people to improve their health and lifestyle...

I even get paid for it too….it just doesn’t get any better than that…;-)

I deliberately distance myself from the 'typical' Personal Trainer. I have no time for the bloated egos and posturing that seem to go hand-in-hand with the fitness industry.

As one of my clients put it; 'They all just seem to be tattoos and testosterone'.

I'm a firm believer in facts and common sense. Fad diets, buzz-words and the latest fitness crazes don't interest me. I would rather take time to get to know a client, their preferences, strengths and weaknesses, than tell them to do something simply to keep up with whatever the latest fitness fashion is.

Please take some time to browse my website.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like to know more, or would like to book a free, no obligation, consultation.

I am fully qualified and insured to Advanced Level 3 in both Personal Training, Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage.

I spent a total of 4 years at college to gain these certifications and a further 2 years earning my business qualifications.

All 'Level 3' qualifications are not the same. Many PT's who claim to be Level 3 qualified have only completed a short course, some of them lasting as little as 4 weeks.

I find it both disturbing and astounding that someone can go from being totally unqualified, to being able to work as a Personal Trainer in so short a time.

There is no way that someone can have the experience and depth of knowledge to safely and effectively train people after such a short period of tuition.

Even more disturbing is the fact that REPS recognise these qualifications as being on-par with a full CYQ qualifiction!

Before you choose a PT, ask where they gained their qualifications and how long the course took to complete.

After all, would you hire a plumber, electrician or even a hairdresser who had only completed 4 weeks of training?
